I have never done a nursery before. At least not in miniature. But when I saw
Bespaq's new "Sweet Wreath" nursery pieces, I knew it was time!!! This gorgeous
set of furniture was all the inspiration I needed. Delicate carved wreaths and
edgings combine with graceful lines throughout. I was even inspired to create a matching dollhouse and table for this set!
In this class, you will do an
antiquing glaze technique over gloss white furniture.
All of the fabrics used in this setting are fabrics that I designed and
printed myself. They feature a darling cherub motif which I have carried out
through the entire room. The colors are the softest peachy pink and tan, a gorgeous rich combination. You will dress the fabulous crib in my original coordinating
fabrics, make lots of darling little pillows and then drape with a gorgeous
gossamer silk netting canopy.
Madalyn's doll house is the real treat in the room. This original 144th scale
house is a great little project which was originally designed specifically for
this nursery. It is self contained, battery supplied with lights. You will
assemble the house and table, and make all of the furniture in the doll house.
(note that the doll house is also available as a separate stand alone kit...see
below)
The rocker and changing table are both upholstered in fabrics from my
collection. The darling cabinet is perfect for displaying your favorite
miniature dolls and toys.
The room measures 10" h x 13" w. It features hand laid birch flooring which
has been whitewashed. The walls are beautifully and elegantly trimmed with
moldings and done in the softest shade of peachy pink. Angled walls at the back
corners have windows looking out over a lit scene.
Your ceiling comes prelate with 4 inset can lights and a p rewired canopy for
you to add a chandelier of your choice. The outer scenes are also lit. You do
not have to do any wiring, it's all complete, Just like in my tearoom and
jewelry shop projects. Our original Sweet Cherub chandelier is NOT included in the kit, but may be purchased from us separately.
The setting is housed in a plywood outer box which can be stained or painted
as desired. Students will add their own picture frame to the front of the box,
following an easy to apply method we will show you.
Kit includes four Bespaq pieces, doll house and table kit, all fabrics,
interior paints, moldings trims, and p rewired pieces. Students will provide
their own basic tools, transformer, min wax stain and deft sealer, which we are
not able to ship.
Space is limited, and there will be a cut off date for registration so that I
can get all of the furniture ordered in time for the class. All of the pieces
will be made specifically for our class, so I need to give Bespaq plenty of time
to do their usual lovely work! This kit will be shipped out in early May. The
doll house portion will be sent first, to be shipped in March, so you can get an
early start!
See below for lots more photos!
IMPORTANT NOTE: The small toys and accessories shown in my photos are for display purposes only. They are not included in the kit. Our original Cherub Chandelier is not included in the kit, but may be purchased from us separately. You can also order your transformer from us if you need one. Please select the proper type for your location.
