Beginning in February 2006, and continuing thru December 2008, I offered online classes in miniature millinery. These monthly projects and the students who participated quickly became known as the "Mad Hatter's Club". Each month, students received a kit and link to an extensive online tutorial. Every project was designed to introduce something new, whether it was a new hat shape, a new technique in making embellishments, (including faux enamel flowers and cold porcelain roses), ribbon work, and even hand dying. After three years, I was simply ready to move on and do other things, but to this day, not a month passes that someone does not email asking if there are any hat kits left, or plans in the future for more hat classes.
In answer to all those requests, I am offering these downloadable hatmaking lessons. There are no fabric kits available. However, each lesson includes a list of materials, trims, etc that you need to complete the project. It also lists the tools you will need.
In each tutorial, there are tons of instructions, and dozen of photos. Even the special techniques are included, like the cold porcelain, etc. The hat pattern, hatbox form and the beautiful original hatbox artwork are all part of the packet. If gloves, purse, parasol or other accessories are included, the instructions, patterns etc for those items are also included. The pdf files are quick and easy to download and save to your computer. You can print out some or all of the pages. Hat patterns and hatbox forms are printed directly from the document, ready to be cut out and assembled!
YOUR PDF FILES ARE OFFERED FOR DOWNLOAD AT THE END OF THE CHECKOUT PROCESS. SEE BELOW.
