Presenting Our Mother's Day Holiday Shelf Project
A lovely way to celebrate a Very Special Day. And a lovely way to remember your mother, grandmother, or the joy of being a mom in your holiday vignette or dollhouse.
We have combined some wonderful items to create our Mother's Day project and once again you have options to make your little shelf just the way YOU want it!
To begin, you will choose from two different figures for the focal point. The first is a beautiful resin 3D printed figure of an Edwardian era mother holding a darling child. The child is offering the tiniest little rose to her mother. This piece is a bit challenging to paint because of the close proximity of the two figures. We will include tips and tricks to make it "doable" for everyone. But if you feel that this piece may be beyond your painting level, don't despair... I discovered that it is equally as beautiful simply finished with a coat of satin varnish to recreate a "Blanc de Chine" porcelain piece. There is a photo to the left showing this alternate finish.
The second figurine is a darling little Victorian girl cradling her baby doll. This is a really sweet figure, and is easy to paint. You can add extra detailing to the apron to dress it up if desired. Again, this can also be finished as a piece of white porcelain.
Refer to the photo, and use the pull down menu to indicate your choice of figurines when ordering. Either choice is displayed on a delicate lacy lasercut doily.
My dear friend and helper extraordanaire, Lenora, has created a kit to make the most beautiful little African Violet plant, which sits in an elegant 3d printed teacup and saucer. If you have not ventured into flower making, you will love this project. The details and instructions are beyond wonderful, as are the results!
A laser cut layered wooden heart makes a lovely statement that "Mom is the Heart of the Family". There is also a lovely plate with a vintage mother and child image. You can choose from the 5 different vintage prints that are included to fit the wood frame, as well as a collection of darling Mother's Day cards. And the most delicate shelf edging has been designed to match the beautiful doily, and adds the perfect finishing touch.
I designed this series of projects to allow you to include a special holiday decoration in your dollhouse, or to create a small seasonal vignette that could be easily changed to reflect the current Holiday celebration.
To do this, I have designed a wall mounted shelf unit that allows for the shelf and contents to be removed from the base and quickly and easily changed to an alternate filled shelf. Only the supporting bracket system is mounted to the wall. The shelf is easily removed and replaced. It locks into the mounting unit to stay securely until you wish to change it again.
The last photo to the left will give you an idea of how quickly you can add a couple of items to our shelf to create a darling holiday vignette. Chair and accessories are NOT included in the shelf kit, and are for illustrative purposes only.
