Our winter village hutch was the most popular online class project we have ever offered. Because you all seemed to really enjoy the project, I decided to offer a second piece, this time with a spring theme. This project features a brand new hutch design which I think you will agree is really unique.Hutch is 1/12 scale, measuring 5 1/2" wide at the widest point and 7 1/2" tall. I painted mine a soft blue for a shabby chic look, but you are free to paint the hutch any color you like.
The three shelves house a total of nine tiny village dwellings, including two houses, the rose cottage in, the candy shop, the flower shop, church, school, sunshine bakery and the egg decorating studio. All house are constructed of laser cut wood, with cardstock roofs. They have tiny inset window panes, some with stained glass designs. Each building sits on a tiny led light and gives off a delightful glow. The piece is self contained. It runs on a single coin cell battery with on/off switch, which is hidden in the lower part of the cabinet for easy access.
Tiny little bushes and window boxes filled with flowers really bring the project to life.
Laser cut wood and cardstock piece, lighting kit, precut roof pieces, and artwork are all included. Students will provide basic tools, and an assortment of acrylic paints.
Instructions will be presented online with an exhaustive tutorial - photos and text instructions to guide you thru every step of the project. The tutorial will also be provided in a print friendly pdf format should you wish to print it out.
These kits will ship April 15th. Class will be limited in size, and space is available on a first come, first served basis. For more photos, see below.
