I love to collect.  Not just miniatures, but all kinds of goodies.  Including vintage and antique glass and porcelain.  I spend a lot of time in antique shops and vintage stores, estate sales and the like.  Mostly looking and admiring these days, as space is running short.

With that in mind, I have decided to start a series of 1/12" scale online projects that each focus on a favorite "collectible".  This darling glass shoe collection is the first in that series. Stay tuned for several more displays... available very soon!

I have reproduced tiny glass shoes from the lines of Fenton, Moser, Eapg, and Le Smith.  They have been printed in either clear or white resin, whichever is most suitable to reproduce the original pieces. And the detail is outstanding.  Lots and lots of research went into this project, which became more fascinating with every day!

One of the challenges was how to accurately reproduce the original colors, and how to apply them and still preserve the transparency needed for many of these styles.  After a lot of experimentation, I have found a method that will allow you to use craft acrylics to complete this project.  I will provide samples of each color used and full instructions on how to mix and apply.  If you are fortunate to already own a set of transparent glass stains, you can of course use them.  However, they can be expensive and hard to find, so I felt I needed to find an easy and affordable way for everyone to complete this project.

In addition to the clear glass pieces, I have done a burmese glass shoe, a painted satin glass shoe, and the delightful covered hobnail glass shoe.  I'll provide step by step instructions for each of these, with lots of photos.  However, I realize that painting this tiny might be overly challenging for some.  For that reason, those pieces will be provided to you in BOTH white and clear so that if you do not want to do the detailed painting, you can use the clear glass technique.

A collection this special needs a perfect home, so I designed a lovely wood display that has been sized to exactly fit the 16 little shoes.  It is easy to assemble, and the addition of the 3d printed scrolls adds just the right touch of elegant detail.

The kit includes 19 printed shoes, all parts for the wood cabinet, and a full online tutorial with step by step instructions for shoes, painting technique, color suggestions, and specialty finishes.

Students will need acrylic paints, varnishes, glue, basic tools, and good brushes.

Space will be limited, and available on a first come, first served basis.  Estimated ship date for kit is April 24th.
