A Token of Affection is a joyful Celebration of that most romantic of holidays - Valentine's Day.... and also of all things feminine and Victorian.
We begin this project by constructing a lovely original hutch with working drawers. Easy to assemble and finish, this is a great furniture piece for all levels of expertise from beginner to expert.
Then, students will fill each shelf, nook and cranny with a fabulous assortment of Victorian goodies. Included are 7 pop up Victorian Valentines. These are pieces from my collection of antique Victorian Valentines that have been scaled to miniature, and are my favorites designs. A pair of porcelain plates will be decorated with water slide decals. A wooden tray will be lined with a delicate paper doily and a charming piece of Victorian artwork. An original paper fan, featuring genuine valentine artwork is also included. There is darling glass apothecary jar filled with tiny pink peppermints, and perfume bottles abound. Students will also assemble and decorate three heart shaped chocolate boxes, (can be filled, but chocolates are not included in this class), a lovely Valentine motif hatbox and pair of stacked storage boxes. A wooden container holds a lovely arrangement, made from hand-sculpted roses which will be provided in the kit. And three darling Valentine Clown standups are also included for a touch of whimsy.
This class is great for all levels of expertise. Easy to follow instructions with lots of photos take you thru each and every step. There is a lot of very intricate cutting involved, so a very very small sharp pointed pair of scissors is s must. Students will also supply glue, sealer and assorted acrylic paints.
Kits for this class will be shipped on January 28th. Class space is limited, and all participation is offered on a first come-first served basis. See below for additional photos and email me with any questions!
