I have a couple of kits left for this project!
I love Art Noveau artwork, especially by artist Mucha. This project will teach you to disassemble a beautiful hand carved 3 panel screen made by Bespaq. (Retail value of screen is 45.00) We will then use a fabulous liquid gold leaf to refinish the screen. I have designed the artwork for the three panels and it has been commercially printed on fabric. We will cover the panels, both front and back.
To accompany the screen, we will also gold leaf a beautiful perfume table, also by Bespaq. (Retail price of table is 49.00) I have always loved this little two tier design. It is perfect to set beside a chaise lounge. We will make a darling little boudoir lamp which is electrified. The shades have been hand dyed to match the colors in the screen beautifully.
And we will finish the project by making a lovely collection of perfume bottles, all using swarovski crystal beads and gold plated findings. Make sure to check out the beautiful tall green bottle with the silk covered atomizer bulb! (See detail photos below.)
All materials and supplies are included in the kit.... the screen, table, printed fabric panels, beads, findings, lighting supplies, and laser cut doilies, as well as the gold leaf liquid. You will need scissors, glue, pins, and other basic tools.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO STUDENTS OUTSIDE OF THE US. Unfortunately, regulations prohibit me from being able to mail the liquid gold leaf paints outside of the US. If you would like to source your own gold leaf paint, and take the class, I will refund $10.00 from the class price when you register as a credit for the paint. I'm really sorry, but if customs were to open your package and find the paint, you would most likely lose the entire kit, so it's not worth the risk. I'm happy to give you the information regarding the brand and color of the paint if you want to try and locate it. I'm reasonably sure that it can be found in Canada.
