I recently had the pleasure of teaching an in person class with the Mini-Cals club here in California. It was a wonderful experience, with an fabulous group of ladies. I am offering the project that we did in our live workshop as an online class so you too can enjoy this wonderful piece.
The "Milliner's Niche" features a 1" scale hutch which is my original design. It features beautiful fretwork embellishments, and can be painted, and also antiqued, if desired.
The hutch is filled with ribbon spools and reels, hatpin holder and hatpins, antique shoe pincushion, a fan shaped vase filled with feathers, hatpin tablets, Millinery books, scissors and more. There are three beautiful boxes filled with various supplies, which are such fun to arrange and create. An Edwardian era hatbox is also included. Many of the items in the hutch feature authentic artwork from the Edwardian era. The shoe pincushion, fan vase, hatpin holder and the elegant hatstand are all new and exclusive items that we have created here in our studio just for this project and for you!
You will also learn to make the lovely silk hat, using the pattern and many techniques that I developed during my many years of offering the "Mad Hatter's Club" monthly projects. From ribbon roses and fluffy bows to curling feathers and working with netting, you will learn a lot about hatmaking in this project!
There are lots of close up photos below... so take a peek!
All materials needed for this project are included in the kit with the exception of any glues and paints. Students will need to provide basic tools, as well as a rose making tool. A bow making tool is also recommended. If you don't have these items, they are both available here on my website under tools and supplies.
All instructions will be provided in an extensive online tutorial, complete with written and photographic instruction for each and every step.
Estimated ship date for this kit is June 22.
Space is limited, and is available on a first come-first served basis, so don't delay. My classes always fill fast and this sweet project is one you surely will not want to miss! If you need more information on my online classes, visit the FAQ's page here:
