Introducing our newest online class project.... our 144th Scale Craftsman Style Bungalow.  This project was a long time in coming. I hope you find it worth the wait!

A lot of research went into the design of this little house and its furnishings.  The traditional Craftsman style has been described as follows:

  • Low-pitched roof lines, usually done in a hip or gable (triangular) style.
  • Wide, overhanging eaves.
  • A covered front porch.
  • Pillars lining the entry.
  • Double hanging windows, which have separate panes of glass on the top and bottom.

We hit all the bullet points with this one!!!  We created 3d printed porch posts and railings and highly detailed windows.  We followed the traditional architectural "rules" and also chose colors from a traditional "craftsman" palette. The roof is shingled in layers for a wonderful dimensional effect. The house is a "floor and a half" style, with large parlor, and kitchen/dining area on the lower floor and bedroom tucked upstairs in the small attic loft.

We furnished our little gem with traditional craftsman/mission style details, including built-in cabinetry (filled bookcases), tiled fireplace surround and hearth, traditional furniture pieces, including a builtin banquette, and even authentic artwork such as the Walter Crane and a William Morris painting.

The house is lighted, using LED lighting powered by a coin cell battery, hiding beneath the base.  The exterior is beautifully landscaped with grass and flowering shrubs.

The house is displayed on a Craftsman style cherry wood table, which allows you to lift the house and access the lighting on/off switch.

Measurements of entire display (house on table) Height: 3 1/4"  Width: 3", Depth: 2 1/2"

All instructions will be provided in a comprehensive online tutorial, including photos and written instruction for each step.  No live classes are provided, and you can access the tutorial at any time.  For more information on our online classes, visit this link:
